Kalani lost her first tooth

First tooth gone

Kalani lost her first tooth today.  She bit a carrot about 2-3 weeks ago and that made it loose.  So, while she was playing a video game it came out.  She is very excited for the tooth fairy to come visit her.  I guess Kalani is going to be loosing teeth while Mason gets his teeth in.  So from now on Kalani is going to have a hole in her smile.  And I am sure the hole is just going to get bigger since she has another loose tooth!

Valentine Party 2010

February 15th, 2010 Tia Farley No comments

I love having my sister near me because she is a “Party Planner.”  She is starting her own business make it myne where she plans and throws parties.  She wanted to do a Valentine Party and mentioned it to our aunt and uncle.  They said okay and she started planning.  We had to come dressed as a “couple” and had some fun food and played some fun games.  It was great to see everyone dressed up.  Matt and I came as Lois Lane and Clark Kent.  I was surprised that Matt would dress up when as a child he wouldn’t even dress up for Halloween.  I ordered glasses and a t-shirt online and even got him to color his hair black.

Other couples seen that night include a Pink Lady and T-bird, Morticia and Gomez Addams, Mary Poppins and Bert, Ron and Harmonie, Barbie and Ken, and Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne (who won the best costume).  Thanks to my fun family and friends for a wonderful night.

The highlight of the evening at our BYUH Luau was watching Kalani learn this hula dance.  I am going to study the dance and teach it to her so she can be our little hula dancer.

BYU-Hawaii Alumni Luau in Houston

November 15th, 2009 Tia Farley No comments

So, a friend in our church sent me an invitation to a luau.  Hawaiian food that I don’t have to cook?  Of course I am there.  What was even better is that it was a luau for BYU-Hawaii alumni that are now located in Houston.  I purchased tickets for myself, Matt and Kalani since we all LOVE the Hawaiian food and had a wonderful time meeting new people that also attended BYUH.  The evening consisted of a video that was made at BYUH and mailed to us to view, food, dancing, pictures and talking story.  We are looking forward to more get togethers with the alumni to feel of their “aloha spirit” and of course to eat more “ono grindz”

We were a small group, but that just meant more food for us!

Scotland Friends

September 1st, 2009 Tia Farley No comments

Kalani & CalumAs I was reading through a friend’s blog she mentioned that some of the teenagers in Aberdeen, Scotland are featured in the September edition of our church’s magazine for the youth The New Era.  I quickly opened up the link and found photos of some of our former ward/church members in the article.  Calum’s (Kalani’s “boyfriend”) 3 older sisters are pictured and at least one was interviewed for the article.  It is so much fun to see a little bit of our Scottish friends while we are back in the states.
