Career Highlights
IT Professional - Team Lead & ScrumMaster
Chevron Corporation
February 2007 - Present
Upstream Foundation - Common Development Team (New Orleans & Houston)
As the leader (ScrumMaster) of several software development (Scrum) teams, I was responsible for the
project management, reporting, and delivery of custom software to our Upstream business partners. This role
required dynamic leadership and ingenuity to facilitate and ensure the productivity of the team and
satisfaction of our customers.
i-Field - Chevron Upstream Europe (Aberdeen, U.K.)
After having success as a ScrumMaster in Houston, I was sent to Aberdeen to lead an i-Field development
team who were struggling to meet their deliverables. Expanding on my learnings from Houston, I was
able to restructure the team in a format more conducive to the Scrum methodology. Over the course of
several months I implemented and improved upon software development best practices and engineering
standards. The end result was a successful delivery within the projected time-line.
ETC SharePoint Services Team (Houston)
Upon my return from Aberdeen, ETC created the SharePoint Services Team and placed me in the team lead
role. In this capacity I was charged with building a new team to provide expert SharePoint consulting
and services to ETC. Using an array of tracking metrics, specific goals, and streamlined processes, our team successfully
deployed SharePoint in an efficient and rapid manner to many teams in ETC.
ETC High Performance Computing (Houston)
As Team Lead of Linux/Unix Systems in Technical Computing, I am responsible for the global services and
consulting ETC provides in the Linux/Unix space. In addition to operational services, our team provides
technical strategy and direction for Linux/Unix servers and high-end workstations. I also
fill the role of portfolio manager for our unit's baseline and technical services portfolios.
Chief Technology Officer / Co-Founder
eefoof inc. / vume.com
2006 - 2007
During the summer of 2006, I co-founded an Internet startup: eefoof.com. The services offered competed
directly with well-known user-driven content sites such as YouTube.com and overlapped
with social networking sites like MySpace.com. We differentiated ourselves from
these organizations through our unique business model that provided an unmatched
incentive for user participation: cash.
I had been largely involved in formulating the strategy and direction of the company
and was individually responsible for developing the system from the ground up. Through
extensive user testing and feedback I developed our interactive GUI to fit the needs
of our users. I also led our initial PR push to coincide with the product launch.
Our launch showed great user acceptance and received positive press from C|Net, The Wall
Street Journal and a TV spot on "NBC: On The Money".
In late 2006 we received a large infusion of venture capital which was used
to further build our infrastructure and expand our service offering.
Information Technology Manager
Sacramento-Yolo County Mosquito and Vector Control
2001 - 2006
As the head of information technology for vector control my duties varied greatly
from database programming to network management. It was my responsibility to
leverage technology to increase employee productivity for the overall benefit
of the District. To accomplish this I routinely assessed current District systems and
identified problems or areas needing improvement. Once an issue had been identified
it was my job to propose a solution and present it to the appropriate
persons. Upon approval, I was responsible for all aspects of the design, implementation,
and testing of the final solution.
Christian Missionary Service
France
2000 - 2001
As a missionary for two years in France, I was immersed in the language and culture.
Responsibilities consisted of interacting and speaking with French people on a daily basis.
As a benefit from the involved missionary service, I have gained and work to maintain a
competency in the French language.
