More from Makana and Kalani

Matt Farley, Tia Farley, and Kalani Farley

Kalani continues to grow and learn new tricks everyday. We won’t bore you with the typical parental guess-what-our-baby-did, but we have posted her latest picture album.

The family directory has been updated to reflect instant messaging contact information, particularly: ICQ, AOL Instant Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger, and MSN Messenger. Each person in the directory has their email listing, as well as icons representing their instant messenger contact info. If someone subscribes to a particular service, the icon will be highlighted and clickable to reveal their screen name / contact.

We have finally received a good amount of pictures from Makana on her mission in Ohama Nebraska. Those albums can be found as Omaha: April and Omaha: May. She was recently transferred and her new address is:

Sister Makana Limary2332 Bel Court #6Omaha, NE 68112

From one of Makana’s recent letters:

After three different Sisters coming down with migraines, and my still current battle against this stomach problem.. we finally got to move. They did a mold check in the apt and couldn’t find anything. Then one of the senior couples said maybe its psychological.. Holy cow.. What is it with people and thinking that i am crazy?!

France Vacation: Paris, Angers, Tarbes, Tours

March 30th, 2005 No comments

In 2000 and 2001 I served as a missionary in France for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. During these two years I served in Tarbes, Angers, Bordeaux, Tours, and Paris, respectively. My first companion (trainer) showed me the ropes for my first three months in Tarbes. Over time we became good friends and have kept in touch since our missions.

In December of 2004 Andrew (my trainer) contacted me about a possible trip to France with our wives who had never been. Andrew had also served in Angers and Tours, so with Tarbes we had three areas in common. Andrew proposed we go through a student travel agency and make a trip together during spring break to visit those areas as well as Paris.

After sitting on it for a bit and talking with Tia, we decided it was a great opportunity and better jump on it. We just got back tonight and I’m anxious to post our pictures, so here they are. Additionally there was a lot of video footage filmed that will eventually be edited and make its way online.

Sister Makana Limary – Omaha Nebraska Mission

March 29th, 2005 No comments

I’ve finally scanned and uploaded the last three months of Makana’s mission pictures that she has been sending us. Things look quite cold in her neck of the woods, but I’m sure she’s adjusting just fine. The new albums are December 2004, January 2005, and February 2005.

From one of Makana’s recent letters:

Well, this week.. I am out of my little piece of heaven (transferred).. I think I cried enough to flood a small village. I knew that the time was coming but I just met so many people that I fell in love with and also the town.

Now.. I am in Omaha.. a sprawling city of 400,000 people plus two major Universities. UNO (D2) and Creighton, a medical school. It’s weird and I feel out of place.

We are in the richer area too which I am not used to but I hear that the ward is wonderful and the Bishop is supportive and so I am excited. Well, I am usually always excited.. but more so. I am thinking I will be here for 3-5 months and then finish in the TC because president wants to keep me proselyting as much a possible.

Welcome to the newly redesigned FarleyFamily.Net!

March 5th, 2005 No comments

Kalani Farley After months of brain storming and procrastination I have finally put a fresh makeover on the look of the website. I’m still tweaking things here and there, so feel free to send suggestions or let me know if something’s not working. I only had time to check compatibility with IE6 and Firefox 1.0, so I’d especially like to hear from those using other less common browsers.

We will use this front page of the website to post updates on our little family of three. As you can see Kalani is growing by the day and never stops laughing or making us laugh. She keeps us busy at all hours of the day and can be quite the handful. She turns one on March 7th, I’ll see if I can get some nice shots of her shoving cake into her nose. Hopefully I’ll also have time to upload her pics from the last three months. (edit: pics uploaded)

I have lots of ideas to post on this website, it’s just a matter of finding time to put everything together. I have quite a few pictures of Makana to scan and upload. I may post an occasional letter or two from her as well. Robbieand Adam will be leaving on their missions this year — so expect a fewnew photo albums. You may also notice the new hobbyist section, thatcould be fun once I get around to it.
