June 2016

July 15th, 2016 No comments

Our month of June was filled with some fun activities. Rather than write a post for each one, I decided to to just write about the highlights of the month.

It rained a lot in Texas and caused a lot of flooding. Luckily we stayed safe.

At the reptile show there was a big dog that Blake liked from a distance. But when we put him down next to the dog, he quickly retreated back to his mom's arms.

Mason loves to bake in the kitchen. One day we made cinnamon rolls together and then delivered them to his church teacher and neighbors.

My brother and his partner came to visit us from California for four days and we packed a lot of family time in those days.

We made the 2.5 hour drive to Waco to visit Magnolia Market. We are all fans of the HGTV show "Fixer Upper" and had a wonderful in Waco. With rented Redbox movies for the kids to watch in the car, the drive wasn't that bad.

After eating lunch at In-N-Out Burger, we stopped at the Dr. Pepper Museum. I have never drank Dr. Pepper, but it was fun and educational to show the kids how things use to be.

Blake was pretty happy with himself for riding a horse. He rode a second time while I was riding a horse as well.

Family filled weekend

March 12th, 2016 No comments

Last weekend really made me so happy to be back in the states with family near. My parents and youngest brother flew to Texas from California to spend a week with their Texas family…which consists of me, my two sisters and our Aunt and our families which is about 20 people. We had a girls lunch, a few different family dinners, four birthday celebrations, a baby blessing, and a lot of laughter and memories. I love being with my family.

We enjoyed a campfire and taught the kids some fire safety tips.

Kalani made her own birthday cake. It was devoured quickly and Blake always knew where it was at.

Hawaii 2012

March 26th, 2012 No comments

A co-worker told Matt, “It was really smart of you to marry a Hawaiian.”  Any excuse we can find to go to Hawaii, we will take.  With my younger sister in Hawaii and recently having twins who would be blessed in our church, that was the excuse we needed to leave our own children for a few days and spend time in Hawaii.  And the bonus was that Matt’s brother was also going to school there and I hadn’t seen him in over 2 years!

The twins: Derek & Keith

Our brother recently returned from a mission in the Philippines

Enjoying Matsumoto shaved ice with ice cream in Haleiwa

Numerous waterfalls from all of the rain

The weather wasn’t great while were there.  It rained everyday and flooded in some areas.  So, we never put on our swimsuits or went to the beach since it was too dangerous to swim.  But, we enjoyed our time being together with our family.  I guess we will just need to go back again…I’m sure we can come up with another excuse!

In December 2010 my younger sister got married.

Happy couple just got married

On Wednesday, January 18th, 2012 she went to the hospital around midnight and then 12 hours later gave birth to two BIG baby boys.  First was Derek weighing in at 7.2 lbs and 21 inches long

Then 3 minutes later Keith made an appearance.  He weighed 5.4 lbs and 19 inches long.  Keith was breech, but no C-section…his heart rate was dropping and they just wanted him out as fast as possible.

My younger sister is a Rock Star.  She is going to be a wonderful mother to these two boys who I am sure will mold her into someone she didn’t know she could become.
