BYU-Hawaii Alumni Luau in Houston
We were a small group, but that just meant more food for us!
We were a small group, but that just meant more food for us!
As I was reading through a friend’s blog she mentioned that some of the teenagers in Aberdeen, Scotland are featured in the September edition of our church’s magazine for the youth The New Era. I quickly opened up the link and found photos of some of our former ward/church members in the article. Calum’s (Kalani’s “boyfriend”) 3 older sisters are pictured and at least one was interviewed for the article. It is so much fun to see a little bit of our Scottish friends while we are back in the states.
This is most of the people that arrived in Vegas for the reunion.
There were still more family members that weren’t able to attend
My dad’s family.
Only missing 2 people in this photo (Leilani & Jon)
And here are the 4 grandchildren of my parents. (Kalani, Mason, Kalea, Jaedyn)
They were finally all together…although we woke Kalea up for this photo and she wasn’t happy about that.
Aunt Lucy & Kalani.
Kalani is named after her and was very excited to meet her. (Lucy’s middle/hawaiian name is Kalani)
When you get a bunch of Hawaiians together you know you are going to eat PLENTY of good food. A break down of our week in Vegas where it was at least 110′ everyday:
Saturday: fly in & buffet
Sunday: BBQ & swim
Monday: BBQ & swim
Tuesday: BBQ, swim, Adventure Dome
Wednesday: Children’s Museum, buffet & shop
Thursday: BBQ & swim
Friday: BBQ
Saturday: fly home
We never started anything on time, but we “talked story plenty” and had more than enough to eat for the rest of the day. Kalani got a great tan and Mason was such a good baby for everyone. Next reunion is scheduled to be in 5 years. I wonder how big of a group we will get then?
From the first time I saw Mason I always said that he looks like his sister Kalani. Here are some side-by-side photos of our two kiddos. Can you tell which is which?
After rinsing out the tub and cleaning Mason off (and allowing him time to take care of all of his bathroom business) he was clean and smelling fresh! And one reward Mike Rowe won’t get for his dirty job is cuddling with a sweet baby anytime of the day.
